About Me

Ahh, so you want to stalk me huh?  That’s fantastic.  It’s a fascinating and rewarding pastime if you put in the work.  Lemme tell you a bit about me and this blog.  Then you can decide whether you want to carry on with the hobby.

So, I’m a 36yr old Texan who’s been living in England now for 14 years.   I’ve been married for 15 years and have two teenage girls.   I’ve worked as (starting from the beginning): a Burger King drone, a drilling yard hand, an auto mechanic, an aircraft armament systems specialist in the US Air Force, a mechanic again, a roofer, a contract Informix 4GL programmer, a database administrator, a senior systems administrator, a software release engineer, a help desk manager, a software testing and release manager, a software release and deployment Manager, an infrastructure manager, and (up until December 9, 2009), an infrastructure research and development manager.

At the beginning of December 2009, my role was made redundant but I managed to swap roles (within the same company) to one that pays a lot less, requires me to work 12 hour shifts in unpredictable days, and is just generally unpleasant.  That said, it’s work and it pays the bills.

As you can see I’m a bit of a geek.     In my spare time I build and support a Firefox theme called “Chromifox Extreme Green“.  It’s currently got about 7200 daily users and has been downloaded around 20,000 times.

This blog is actually the combined posts from 3 different blogs I’ve had over the years.

Here you’ll find deeply technical posts, (hopefully) humorous posts,  and lots of plain boring posts talking about my life.  In other words – there’s no fixed topic.  Somedays I’ll get no hits, other days hundreds.
